Android Tech Lead

Passionate about leading and inspiring Android teams? For this role, you’ll join a leading travel company with partners in 180 countries dedicated to helping people create the perfect memories. Your Challenge: With half of all bookings coming through mobile, leading an effective Android team is critical for both the business and users alike, you’ll guide and inspire a team of Android developers to drive the development and foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence.

What You’ll Do:

Lead and Inspire by mentoring and guiding a team of Android developers.

Lead scoping, estimation, prioritisation, and sprint planning.

Design, build, and maintain high-performance, reusable, and reliable code.

Ensure the quality of the Android app using unit and UI tests to validate implementations.

Encourage the team to explore modern technologies and methodologies to enhance their skills.

Provide mentorship, set clear career paths, and facilitate growth opportunities for team members.

Work with cross-functional teams to define and implement innovative solutions for our Android applications.

Encourage best practices to guarantee performance, scalability, and high-quality code.

Oversee the software development lifecycle from inception to implementation.

Who You Are:

You have 5+ years of native Android development experience, fully proficient in Kotlin and Java and a deep understanding of Android development frameworks

You have 2 years of management experience.

You have proven experience as an Android Developer with a strong background in mobile application development.

Your communication and interpersonal skills are so excellent you can convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical minded people with ease.

You love learning and staying updated on the latest trends and advancements in the world of Android.

You’ve designed and implemented scalable and maintainable Android applications.

You’re familiar with version control systems, continuous integration, and deployment pipelines.

You’ve a strong understanding of RESTful APIs and other web technologies.

You’ve a keen eye for debugging and optimising apps.
