What You'll Be Doing

As a Database Engineer, you'll be at the heart of our operations, responsible for the database development aspects of our systems. You'll work collaboratively within a cross-functional squad, including software engineers, UX designers, QA engineers, and product owners. Using agile methodologies, you'll design and create applications that empower our customers to achieve outstanding results. Plus, you'll continually enhance and extend these applications based on valuable customer feedback.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a talented individual who can bring their expertise to our team. If you have the following skills and experiences, you're exactly who we're looking for:

- Advanced PostgreSQL Knowledge: You're a PostgreSQL pro, with skills in development, partitioning, and migrating from SQL Server.

- Performance Tuning: You excel in PostgreSQL and SQL Server performance tuning, including the ability to analyze execution plans and statistics.

- AWS Mastery: You have hands-on experience with AWS Cloud, particularly Aurora RDS PostgreSQL and Glue.

- Collaborative Team Player: You work closely with DBAs and architects to ensure seamless application deployments.

- Problem Solver: Troubleshooting and resolving database issues is second nature to you.

- Database Design Expertise: You have a solid background in database design and data modeling, possibly using tools like Erwin.

- Version Control Proficiency: You're skilled in database source control and deployments, using tools like Git and Flyway.

- Testing and Validation: You have experience in testing and validating database components, especially with PgTap.

- Monitoring Skills: Monitoring is in your wheelhouse, whether it's using AWS native tools or other third-party options.

- SQL Server Savvy: You're not just skilled; you're advanced in SQL Server performance tuning and stored procedures.

- Index Guru: You're an index expert, from design to optimization and management.

- Subject Matter Expertise: You're the go-to expert for teams working with SQL Server and PostgreSQL platforms.

Essential Skills & Experience:

- 5+ Years of Database Development: You have at least five years of experience designing and developing relational data store solutions using Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL in a production environment.

- Agile Champion: You're familiar with agile development practices and can thrive in a dynamic team environment.

- Technical Leadership: You have a track record of influencing technical discussions and providing leadership.

- Problem Solver: You can decipher complex business and technical scenarios.

- SQL Whiz: Your SQL and PGPLSQL / T-SQL knowledge is top-notch.

- Performance Tuning Expert: You're an expert in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO), using monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
