Network Manager

They provide the networking requirements and maintenance for education, research, and various other clients all across Ireland. They’re a small enough team but together they support around 20% of the country’s population, mostly students.

Who are you? You trust your team to get the work done, you’re not a micro-manager, you let them shine. You can take some operational responsibilities but can still delegate properly. If this is you then you’ll fit the culture perfectly.

What you’ll be doing:

You’ll be managing a team of 7 engineers, you’ll be about 30% hands-on with the main focus being on people management. You’ll be expected to be able to handle networking but you don’t have to be the best network engineer in the company - that’s what your team is for! You’ll be supporting and leading them through various projects including OS and data centre upgrades, building new and upgrading existing client sites, and working with various teams to develop strategies for future projects.

What you need:

• Hands-on experience building WAN.
• People management ability and experience leading projects.
• Experience managing 3rd party vendors.
• Some knowledge of BGP would be a nice bonus.
  

Salary:

Around €75-80k.

Interview process:

2 rounds - first round intro with hiring manager covering team fit, management experience, some technical. Then a final presentation of a task (they’re realistic in terms of time, it won’t take up your week!).

Remote:

Hybrid in Dublin City Centre, it’s quite flexible, maybe a couple times in the office per month.
