RemoteFull time

Security Lead

Do you have quite a lot of opinions about software security and are you dying to implement them and generally spread the good word about sustainable and secure development practices? Might you even dabble in pen testing?

This development tools company is ready to hire their very first dedicated Security Engineer.

This being a start-up, there’s a certain element of chaos around the job description. To some extent, they’ll fit the job to the person.

Obviously there’s some requirements!

  • Experience running or coordinating with blue/red teams or blue/red team processes, i.e., defending and breaking SaaS applications.
  • Track record of being an advocate and expert for the security of our app/infrastructure and internal processes for securely engineering them; can also review PRs and implement controls.
  • Experience/knowledge of ISO27001, SOC2, and external security audits (customers) and ensuring compliance with outcomes and controls.
  • Communication skills - you’ll need to be able to influence people in the company but without being a jerk. Use your knowledge and experience to improve people’s skills, be a mentor
  • Software development background - ideally in Python but related languages could work too.

This is a senior role so if you have fewer than 10 years experience in the tech industry, it’s likely you’ll struggle to succeed in this job. Years of experience aren’t everything but it’s one data point to consider.

This job can be based anywhere on the Island of Ireland - you do need to be physically located here though. This isn't a job you can fly over once a month for or work remotely from elsewhere.

3 rounds of interview, all fairly painless

Work permit sponsorship isn’t available, you’ll need full working permissions for the UK/Ireland (as applicable)
