Lead complex software delivery projects for major financial services organisations, taking end-to-end ownership across client and internal teams while managing scope, budgets, risks, releases and senior stakeholders in a high-autonomy environment.
Overview
This role offers the opportunity to own the delivery of major software projects for large financial services organisations.
You'll take end-to-end responsibility across client and internal projects, working across Product, Engineering and client teams to deliver complex technology projects from planning through to release.
This is a delivery-focused role with plenty of autonomy, suited to someone who understands software delivery properly rather than operating purely in a traditional project environment.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll lead both client-facing software implementations and internal projects, including:
- Owning project delivery plans and budgets
- Coordinating internal and client-side teams
- Working closely with Product and Engineering
- Managing sprint plans and software releases
- Managing scope changes, risks, issues and dependencies
- Keeping senior stakeholders clear on where projects stand
- Defining what successful delivery looks like and tracking against it
- Improving delivery processes as the business grows
- Challenging stakeholders when needed to keep projects moving
The team works globally across Ireland, the UK and Australia, so some flexibility around working hours will be needed to support handovers and meetings across time zones.
What You'll Need to Succeed
- 5+ years in Project Management / Delivery
- 5+ years working within Agile Scrum software development environments
- Experience successfully delivering software projects into financial services organisations
- Experience working with large, Tier 1 financial institutions
- Comfortable leading multidisciplinary teams
- Strong stakeholder management skills, both internally and with clients
- Able to manage budgets, delivery plans, scope, risks and changing priorities
- Project Management certification
- Ability to bring structure without adding unnecessary process
