Founding Marketing Manager

This is a proper first-marketer role. No bloated teams. No process for the sake of it. You’ll work directly with the founder and designer to take something early and turn it into something great. The business is funded for the next few years — no scrambling for runway — and the founders have already built and sold a startup together. They know what good looks like and what to avoid second time round. The ambition here is real: the person who lands this should grow into a future CMO. You’ll be the one building the playbook for lead gen, shaping the brand, and turning zero awareness into inbound interest. It’s not about polishing what’s already working. It’s about figuring it out — with freedom, pace, and full ownership.

The Opportunity

You’ll take the reins on everything from brand execution to lead generation.

In year one, the focus is simple: build a scrappy engine that brings in a few hundred qualified B2B leads in the ICP.

In year two: 10x that.

That means testing messaging, experimenting with formats, running campaigns across channels, launching content, optimising landing pages, and owning the full online presence. You’ll work closely with a founding designer who’s ex-Intercom, and with a founder who knows how to sell — just needs the leads to show up.

What They’re Looking For

  • Someone who's been a generalist B2B marketer at early-stage SaaS startups
  • Hands-on experience across product marketing, content, demand gen, and comms
  • Knows how to turn strategy into actual execution — fast
  • Strong grasp of ICP development and testing
  • You’ve built campaigns, launched experiments, and figured out what sticks
  • You’re used to being scrappy, autonomous, and close to the product
  • Ideally someone who’s stepped down from a bigger brand to go earlier-stage


What You’ll Be Doing

  • Own and test ICP assumptions — build and validate personas
  • Run lead gen experiments across content, webinars, case studies, and more
  • Own the website, landing pages, and social presence
  • Shape and scale the content and messaging strategy
  • Work hand-in-hand with the founding designer on brand rollout
  • Build sales and marketing collateral from scratch
  • Feed learnings back into product and go-to-market
