Lead Technical Artist

Do you love that feeling when a game you've put blood, sweat and tears into completely smashes it? Well, how about joining an incredibly successful independent game dev studio here in Ireland?

As they are working on something awesome, they need a Lead Technical Artistto join their amazing team! This is somewhere where you'll be creating wonderful worlds which will be enjoyed by countless players across the globe.

You'll join a great team of people, whose skills know no bounds, and will work on an incredibly exciting project. You'll be the person who will be between design, art and development to make sure that everything is on track for the game to be developed to plan (and be that level-headed person who can communicate equally between tech and creative teams). Without giving anything away, this will be a huge project.

This isn't any ordinary studio though. You'll be given an incredible amount of support so that you can even further master your craft. This is an environment where everyone is incredibly passionate about what they do, and want to share their knowledge.

For this one, you'll be hands on with setting up art production pipelines and workflows, while offering support and mentorship to the artists on your team. There will be quite complex problems here with technical art production, so ideally you're the kind of person who likes to get stuck into the chunky stuff. You'll collaborate with the Heads of various departments, and will have all the support you need, and part of that will include maintaining tech documentation, monitoring game performance and jumping into asset optimisation and validation.

As this is a lead position, you'll already have worked on several games in the past and be very comfortable with the game development process and game systems. You have a detailed knowledge of tools like Maya and 3DS Max, and deeply understand optimisation techniques and the tech requirements of game content, real-time rendering and post-processing pipelines. As you'll be looking after others, you'll also have experience being a mentor and helping others to do their best work. If you've got experience with Unreal Engine, FPS games, animation or scripting that'd be incredible.

Trust me, you don't want to miss this :)

Apply here, or mail me on Aisling@ninedots.io. Please include a portfolio/ demo reel of your work.

*Please note that this position can be based anywhere in Ireland. This is a flexible work environment and there is no requirement to come into the office (unless you want to!)
