Technical Director

What You’ll Do

Own the Technical Direction

• You’ll define and drive the technical strategy across projects, aligning with production goals while making smart, future-facing decisions.
• Set the development strategy and technical roadmap for projects
• Establish architecture and technical guidelines across disciplines
• Evaluate and validate solutions for complex technical challenges
• Step in hands-on for critical or high-risk features when needed
• Research and introduce new technologies that create competitive advantage

Bridge Clients and Delivery

• You’ll act as the technical voice of the studio, ensuring clarity, trust, and alignment with stakeholders.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for clients
• Support project bids with technical strategies and staffing plans
• Communicate progress, risks, and solutions clearly to stakeholders
• Review system designs, documentation, and technical deliverables

Lead and Grow Teams

• You’ll support and develop a strong technical culture,helping people do their best work.
• Lead and mentor engineers and technical artists
• Guide leads on best practices, pipelines, and methodologies
• Conduct performance reviews and provide actionable feedback
• Foster collaboration and consistency across teams

Ensure Quality and Reduce Risk

• You’ll keep projects on track by anticipating issues early and maintaining high standards.
• Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies
• Ensure delivery meets quality and performance expectations
• Advise teams on decisions that improve stability and scalability

What You Bring

• 15+ years of programming experience, including 5+ years in leadership
• Experience shipping at least one AA/AAA title in a senior technical role
• Strong C++ skills, with working knowledge of languages like C#, Python, or Lua
• Deep experience with modern game engines (especially Unreal Engine 5)
• Solid grounding in software architecture, design patterns, and OOP
• Experience developing across PC and Gen 9 consoles
• Proven leadership experience (Technical Director, Director of Engineering, CTO, or similar)
• Strong strategic thinking and ability to manage multiple projects
• Clear and confident communication skills in English

Nice to Have

• Experience in co-development or outsourcing environments
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and pipeline/toolchain optimization
• Interest in performance optimization and low-level systems
