Why This Role

This organisation is continuing to invest in its digital products and technology, and quality is a critical part of that journey.

They're looking for a Quality Assurance Lead to take ownership of how quality and testing works across their digital products and platforms.

This is bigger than running a testing function.

You'll be responsible for defining the enterprise QA strategy, introducing consistent standards and governance, and working with product, engineering and Digital Leads to make sure quality is built into the entire product lifecycle.

The opportunity is to shape how an organisation approaches quality — from discovery and acceptance criteria through to automation, release readiness and continuous improvement.

What They Need Help With

You'll become the central point of leadership for quality across multiple product and delivery teams.

That means setting the strategy while remaining close enough to the technology and delivery teams to make sure it works in practice.

You'll be:

• Defining and owning the enterprise QA and testing strategy
• Establishing consistent testing standards, frameworks and governance
• Partnering with Digital Leads, product managers, designers and engineers
• Leading automation strategy across frontend, backend, APIs and integrations
• Driving shift-left testing and continuous testing within CI/CD pipelines
• Establishing regression, performance, security and reliability testing approaches
• Defining acceptance criteria and release quality thresholds
• Owning release quality governance and supporting go/no-go decisions
• Introducing risk-based testing for critical operational and customer-facing systems
• Coaching testing teams and building stronger QA capability across the organisation

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can think strategically about quality while still understanding the engineering behind modern test automation and delivery.

What They're Looking For

• 8+ years of experience across QA, testing or quality engineering
• 3–5+ years in QA leadership roles
• Experience defining QA strategy across multiple products or delivery teams
• Strong test automation experience with tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or RestAssured
• Strong API and integration testing experience
• Experience integrating testing into CI/CD environments such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or Jenkins
• Understanding of performance testing tools such as k6, JMeter or Gatling
• Experience establishing quality standards, governance and release processes
• Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence across product, engineering and business teams
• Comfortable operating in a complex environment where quality, risk and reliability really matter

Experience within healthcare, financial services, SaaS or another regulated environment would be particularly useful.

Exposure to FHIR, clinical systems or enterprise integration platforms would be a bonus, but isn't essential.

The Culture

This role sits within the organisation's digital function and reports directly to the Chief Product Officer.

You'll work across product, engineering and business teams rather than operating as an isolated testing function.

There's a strong emphasis on shared ownership of quality — putting the right standards, processes and automation in place so teams can deliver confidently without quality becoming a bottleneck.
