Staff Engineer

You’ll join a high-growth B2B fintech building a banking platform from scratch, focused on serving complex corporates with a more tailored, high-touch experience than traditional banks. As a Staff Engineer, you’ll work directly with the CTO, owning key parts of a greenfield Java and AWS-based system across payments, FX, and onboarding, helping drive the MVP launch across Europe. It’s a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll shape architecture, influence technical direction, and play a critical part in getting the product live.

Staff Engineer (Fintech, Java, AWS) - Dublin, €120-140k (DOE)

We’re working with a seriously interesting fintech that’s about to go live across Europe this summer.

They’re building a B2B banking platform from scratch, think payments, FX, onboarding, lending, all wrapped in a modern, cloud-native stack.

They’ve got their EMI licence in progress, a strong leadership team in place, and now need one key hire:

🛠What you’ll be doing

  • Designing and building core banking infrastructure
  • Shipping MVP features across payments, FX, transfers
  • Owning backend architecture (Java + AWS)
  • Contributing across systems, deployment, and scaling
  • Working closely with product and leadership

What they’re looking for

  • Strong backend engineer (10+ years ideally)
  • Java + AWS experience
  • Background in fintech (payments ideally)
  • Someone who’s built modern systems, not legacy banking platforms
  • Comfortable in fast-moving, high-ownership environments

Nice to have

  • Payments / KYC / onboarding experience
  • Crypto / stablecoin exposure
  • Startup or early-stage experience

This isn’t a cushy “Staff Engineer in a 200-person team” role.

It’s closer to:

💰 Salary

€120k – €140k depending on experience
