Staff Software Engineer – Distributed Storage

Storage is the foundation of everything - so naturally, you need someone who knows how it breaks. You’ll join a small senior engineering team building a new object-storage product and taking it from MVP to production scale. This is hands-on engineering with real ownership of architecture, performance, reliability and failure behaviour.
What you’ll do
- Build S3-compatible and distributed object-storage services
- Design for consistency, replication, durability and recovery
- Engineer automated failover and graceful degradation
- Build production services using Go, Kubernetes, gRPC and Envoy
- Establish observability through metrics, tracing and SLOs
What you’ll need
- Direct experience building or deeply owning storage systems at scale
- Experience with object storage, distributed KV stores, storage engines or distributed filesystems
- Strong distributed-systems fundamentals
- Go or comparable systems-programming experience
- Experience with Kubernetes and production infrastructure
Using S3 or administering SAN/NAS systems alone is not enough - you should have helped build the storage technology itself.
