Expel - Software Engineer

Do you enjoy crafting smooth, intuitive user experiences? Do you care about performance, scalability, and systems that just work? Then this role is for you.

As part of the Workbench Engineering Team, you’ll be building and improving the Expel Workbench the hub analysts and customers depend on every day. You’ll work the full stack: React.js or Ember.js on the front-end, Node.js, Python, or Go on the back-end, all running in the cloud (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

You’ll collaborate with UX designers, product managers, and other engineers to bring ideas into production. Along the way, you’ll keep code clean, maintainable, and reliable because that’s what our customers expect from us.

Your day-to-day will include:

• Developing new features that make analysts more effective.
• Writing high-quality code, reviewing teammates’ work, and pair programming.
• Working closely with UX, product, security, and data teams.
• Monitoring, fixing, and tuning production apps for performance.
• Helping shape a collaborative, inclusive team environment.

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

• Strong JavaScript skills (React.js or Ember.js).
• Node.js plus one of Go or Python.
• Cloud experience (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, observability, and automated testing.
• 3+ years building complex web apps.
• A collaborative mindset and an eagerness to learn.
